Zeniark's logo design, winner of The Unified VCA’s logo design contest

A design submitted by Unified VCA Member Dr. Viet Le of Vienna Wellness has been selected to become the association’s new logo. In appreciation of his significant contribution, Dr. Le is receiving a free year of Unified VCA Membership, free registration to his choice of the Spring or Fall 2010 Convention, and recognition in the Unified VCA’s newsletter and web site, an industry news release, and other communications. Dr. Le has multiple practices in Ashburn and Vienna, Virginia and is a graduate of Life Chiropractic College. “When I first saw the contest announcement from the Unified VCA, I was with my best friend, Robert Newgen, managing partner of Zeniark Business Management Solutions, who was creating my new websites (chirova.com and viennawellness.com),” Dr. Le explains. “He offered to have his design team put ideas into images, so, through our collaborative efforts, we created the logo that has been selected. I’m surprised and ecstatic for everyone!” The September, 2009 unification of the Virginia Society of Chiropractic and the Virginia Chiropractic Association, coupled with the growth and progress of Chiropractic in the state, suggested that it was time to update the organization’s corporate identity. The Society logo had reserved its place in state chiropractic history and the VCA logo needed to be updated to accurately convey that while the organization will continue to provide the strength and benefits that doctors have come to expect, the combining of the two organizations means a new and better chiropractic association for everyone in Virginia. The Unified VCA Public Relations Committee launched the logo contest with association members in late 2009, shortly after unification. Thirty-three entries were submitted by members and member colleagues/family. An additional 95 designs were submitted from designers around the world through a web-based competition. The Public Relations Committee narrowed the logo designs down to thirteen finalists. The finalists were then submitted to the general membership for voting and feedback. Dr. Le’s design emerged as the favorite among members of both groups, and the Board of Directors unanimously accepted the committee’s recommendation to adopt his design as the new logo. The new look will be instrumental as the association encourages doctors to get more involved; educate legislators that there is now one single, stronger voice in the state; and increase awareness among the public, other healthcare providers, media, and other parties that the Unified VCA is the go-to organization in the Commonwealth. Dr. Le’s design successfully addresses a number of needs. It works in both single and multiple color combinations. It incorporates both “The Unified VCA” to highlight unification and “Virginia Chiropractic Association” for clarity. It works with or without the slogan, “Ensuring the Health of Virginians.” Words used to describe what the logo design conveys include progressive, active, patient-centered, modern, natural, strong, healthy, and appealing.
